JOIN US FOR A TWO DAY DESIGN POP UP AT SOUTH BLOCK TO SHOP selected pieces from local designers + makers, and pick up new skills and hobbies with our two creative workshops!

We're bringing together books, prints + more from Concrete Nature, Hot Pink Press, Of Source! Press and Ploterre, alongside with beautiful paper flowers from Natalia Manczak, spice blends from Spicy Chameleon, ceramics from Rubber Glove Ceramics and of course coffee + matcha from Pineapple Espresso at South Block on Saturday 1st + Sunday 22nd November from 10.00 to 16.00. To top it all up, you can also come and learn how to make your own embroidered notebook with Concrete Nature on Saturday and join Other Stitch for an appliqué and embroidery cap workshop on Sunday. Entry is free for the pop up, workshop must be book in advance and dogs are welcome. 


Embroidered Notebook Workshop
with Concrete Nature
Saturday 21 November • 14.00–16.00


During this 2 hours workshop you will learn the 3-holes pamphlet stitch bookbinding technique to create your own notebook using recycled papers and colourful linen thread. Once you have created your notebook you will decorate the cover with a cross stitch design of your choice. There will be templates and grid paper available to help you create your cross stitch design. You will leave with your new notebook read to fill in or gift a lucky soul.

This workshop is suitable for adults of all levels, no prior skills required, all materials will be provided. Our workshops welcome everyone, from complete novices to seasoned creatives keen to nourish their own practice. This is a ticketed event, advance booking is essential as spaces are limited. Workshop tickets are non-refundable.



Applique and embroidery cap workshop

Other Stitch
Sunday 22 November • 13.30–16.00


Join Sarah from Other Stitch for an embroidery and appliqué workshop, expect a hands-on afternoon where I’ll teach you techniques to embellish and repair textiles using reclaimed materials. You’ll walk away with an embellished cap and the skills to take on similar projects at home.

Everything you need for the workshop will be provided on the day. There will be a selection of caps, textiles and embroidery threads to choose from, as well as all the necessary equipment for embroidery and appliqué. You will also be given printed instructions which you can keep for future reference. All textiles and caps have been carefully sourced second hand and checked thoroughly for quality. Please note this workshop is suitable for ages 16+



Location & Transport
South Block is located at 60–64 Osborne Street, Glasgow G1 5HQ. There is on street parking around the venue and a large car park across the street. There are several Blue Badge parking spaces around the venues, to find the different locations visit bluebadgeparking.com for more information. The venue is also accessible via public transports. The nearest train station, Argyle Street, is a 4 min walk from South Block. St Enoch is the nearest tube station and it is a 9 min walk from South Block.


About the venue
